FastTracking the Future, Sydney Metro’s school education program, has been developed by teachers for teachers and offers insight into a current and innovative infrastructure project through classroom-ready resources including unit plans and lessons for years K -10.

To find our teacher resources, simply search by lesson, unit or stage group or type in your curriculum into the keyword search.

You can also download the complete books on primary or secondary place-based lessons/units on Sydney Metro Northwest or search for complete inquiry-based units below or via the NSW Department of Education’s Scootle site.

This poster lists five stages of the design thinking process to help students solve problems creatively. Against the key stages of empathise, define, ideate, prototype and test are some easy to implement tips for secondary students on how to undertake each phase most effectively. This poster is designed to be printed and hung on classroom walls for inspiration for schools undertaking the Metro Minds STEAM Challenge

Sydney's new metro trains

Description

Sydney’s new generation of fast, safe and reliable metro trains are now operating on the Metro North West Line. There are 15 driverless trains an hour in each direction – that’s one train every four minutes. When Sydney Metro is extended into the CBD and beyond in 2024, there will be capacity for a metro train every two minutes in each direction under the city.
