Sydney Metro’s tunnel builders are offering 18 school-based traineeships on Australia’s biggest public transport project.

The John Holland CPB Ghella joint venture, which is delivering Sydney’s twin new 15.5km tunnels from Chatswood to Sydenham, is offering this opportunity to Year 10 students.

These school-based positions are more than just part-time jobs – they’re a great way for young people to set themselves up for a career while completing their Higher School Certificate.

Traineeships are available for civil construction and business administration positions.

Civil construction trainees will assist with various construction trades on site, including fitters, formwork carpentry, mechanical, electrical and bulk earthworks.

Business administration trainees will help the reception and accounts team.

All trainees will need to complete their relevant Certificate II over the course of the program, and work for a minimum number of days in the paid traineeship.

If you want to know more about the opportunities available, register your interest to attend an information session.

The first session will be held in Redfern on Wednesday 25 October 2019 from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. The next session will be held in Bankstown on Monday 30 October 2019 from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

Email your full name, school and selected session to: nsw.sm2.training@sydneymetro2.com.au You will be sent a confirmation email with more details about the session. Parents, career advisers and teachers are welcome to attend.
