Bankstown plaza community open day

22.03.2026

Bankstown plaza

Bring your family and friends to get a first look at the exciting new plaza that will provide a direct cross-corridor pedestrian link between the north and south sides of Bankstown.

Dubbed the “Central Station of Southwest Sydney”, the transit-orientated Bankstown precinct features a brand-new, 90-metre cross-corridor plaza that sits on the doorstep of two new station entrances including a new Sydney Trains entry linking customers from the plaza to T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line services and a Metro entrance building that will open in the second half of the year when metro services start to Bankstown.

Celebrations include a live drumming performance, information stalls and children’s activities, and the opportunity to speak to Metro’s experts about the new plaza and all its features.

Come say hello to the Sydney Metro team and get a first taste of the transformative impact Sydney Metro is having on the Southwest community.
