Development partners shortlisted to deliver integrated station and precinct development at Sydney Olympic Park
14.07.2025

Sydney Metro has shortlisted three consortia to deliver an integrated station and precinct development at Sydney Olympic Park which will include the design and construction of the new metro station, its surrounding precinct and two buildings adjacent to the Sydney Olympic Park metro station.
The new Sydney Olympic Park metro station will deliver an integrated precinct and strategically important station on the Sydney Metro network, providing access to Australia’s premier events, sport and entertainment precinct and support its transformation into a thriving urban community.
The new Sydney Olympic Park metro station will support the transit of more than 10 million people each year, providing easy interchange with the planned Parramatta Light Rail, the T7 Olympic Park line, buses and active transport.
The well-connected development will reinvigorate Sydney Olympic Park and create a lively new destination where people can live, work and play, while various new dining and retail experiences will significantly enhance Sydney’s night-time economy.
Fast and frequent metro services, including a 15-minute journey to Hunter Street in the Sydney CBD, will make Sydney Olympic Park easier to access than ever before.
To provide increased capacity during events, the new metro station will feature platforms on both sides of the train, to support large crowds as they board and disembark simultaneously.
Connections to other transport modes – including existing train and future light rail services – will further integrate the precinct into Sydney’s broader transport network.
The integrated station and precinct development will create more than 300 new residential dwellings in Sydney Olympic Park, supporting the NSW Government’s priorities to increase housing supply.
Separately, planning is also underway seeking to amend development plans to provide around 190 additional residential dwellings directly above the metro station.
The following consortia have been shortlisted to tender for the Sydney Olympic Park Integrated Station Development Precinct contract:
• FCC Construction Australia Pty Ltd and Ecove Group Pty Ltd (FCC and Ecove);
• Gamuda Engineering Pty Ltd, Gamuda (Australia) Pty Ltd and MTR Corporation (Australia) Pty Ltd (Gamuda and MTR); and
• John Holland Pty Ltd and Freecity Group Holdings Pty Ltd (John Holland and Freecity).
The contract for the Sydney Olympic Park Integrated Station Development Precinct is expected to be awarded in mid-2026.
