The future Sydney Metro Hunter Street Station is another step closer, with the announcement of the two consortia shortlisted to tender for the landmark station and two buildings above in the heart of the Sydney CBD.

The new Hunter Street Station will revitalise Sydney’s central business district and become a transport precinct with connections to George Street, light rail, train services at Wynyard and the new Sydney Metro City & Southwest station at Martin Place.

Selection of the successful tenderer will include consideration of how they will improve the local area and create a precinct and a sense of place, not just a station.

The following consortia have been shortlisted to tender for the Hunter Street Precinct Development Partner:

  • The Brookfield Consortium (comprised of Brookfield Properties (Devco) Australia Pty Ltd Brookfield Property Partners L.P., Brookfield Properties and Brookfield Asset Management) ; and
  • The Metropolis Consortium (comprised of Hemmes Hermitage Pty Limited, Hemmes Trading Pty Limited, Mirvac Office Developments Pty Ltd, Telado Pty Ltd, CFT No. 8 Pty Limited, Lendlease Development Pty Ltd, Lendlease Building Pty Ltd)

The Hunter Street Precinct Development Partner contract is expected to be awarded in 2024.
